Welcome to the website of the Polish Federation of Social Workers and Social Service Employees Unions – an independent and nationwide trade union organisation established in 2012.
Our organisation combines in an innovative way the role of a trade union and professional association.
Our activities focus on the following areas:
-providing assistance to professional helpers
-protecting rights and interests of social workers and social service employees
-fostering professionalism in social work and social services
-concern for good working conditions, as well as the status and prestige of our work
-participating in the social dialogue
-developing a positive image of social workers and social service employees
Our Federation comprises local trade unions that decide on its development and activities.
Since its inception, our Federation has taken a number of initiatives that integrate members of our profession, it has taken actions that led to positive changes in legislation and to positive decisions taken by competent governmental authorities, and was also involved in a variety of actions to foster professional social services and social work in Poland.
Our Federation cooperates with other trade unions, NGOs, media, student societies, central and local government institutions, and the academic world. From 2016 we are also an IFSW (The International Federation of Social Workers) member.
Social workers and social service employees themselves consider our Federation as one of only few organisations representing their voice and acting effectively. This is what they say about us:
Katarzyna: “I am happy that you exist and I hope that thanks to you something will eventually change for the better in social services.”
Weronika: “So it is possible to fight for social workers so that they are no longer neglected.”
Zbigniew: “I am glad that at last our occupation is better represented, all the more that they are effective and care about our occupational group.”
Radek: “At last we have a reliable organisation that represents us by addressing our problems!”
We invite you to contact us and cooperate also if you are an individual or an organisation established outside Poland.
